Australian coal company wants to invest in the development of Chukotka

During the Fifth Eastern Economic Forum, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the Australian company Tigers Realm Coal Limited, the government of Chukotka and the Far East Agency for attracting investment and export support. A coal miner who has been working in the Russian region for a long time will consider the possibility of financing infrastructure projects important for Chukotka.

According to the Government of the Autonomous Okrug, we are talking about an Australian company in the reconstruction of the Beringovsky airport, the arrangement of a highway from the seaport to the field, the modernization and increase in the capacity of the existing fuel base, the creation of generating capacity on the territory of the Beringovsky coal basin development.

In addition, the investor plans to participate in connecting the region to the broadband Internet through the projected fibre-optic communication line in Chukotka. The company will continue to supply coal to the local market and will support the creation of a specially protected natural area of ​​regional significance, the Natural Park “Sandpiper Land”. Separate support measures will be given to representatives of the indigenous population of Chukotka.
