«Beringpromugol» took over the cost on disposal the dump on the so-called “second spit” – the site for the Fisherman celebration with the help of “Service Group” LLC. The local festival to be held tomorrow and it will host local residents of Beringovsky and its guests. The chosen place for celebration at Lakhtina Lagoon is surrounded by the fishermen huts. For years, people left various garbage made from iron, glass and plastic there. Galina Vlasova, an environmental engineer from «Beringpromugol» reported about 30 cubic metres of garbage disposed by “Service Group” LLC. Additionally, the major Skrupsky requested to transport locals to the spit to celebrate.
It is essential to mention that one of the company’s grantее Nadezhda Gordienko, the leader of the project “Eco-patrol”, pointed to that dump. She and her volunteers have been working already for a week on the "second spit" and have reported about their success with pictures “before-now”. The members of the eco-patrol put their new findings to the old dump. They keep on working until the end of July.
“Eco-patrol” is one of the three projects offered by the association of Chukotka indigenous peoples and sponsored by “Beringugolinvest”. The choice was done by voting of the Working group members, which comprises the company and indigenous peoples representatives. Another chosen project funds creation of the children theatre and the last one sponsors the cultural and sports festival “Einev”.
