The employees from the Beringpromugol office organized a volunteer clean-up day – subbotnik – on June 5 to celebrate the World Environment Day.
The first clean-up day was in 2018, when the company employees cleared the area adjacent to the office building and collected 32 bags of garbage. The idea of cleaning the territory was supported at industrial sites: in the shift camp and the Beringovsky port. In 2019, the second clean-up day took place, which captured the environment within a radius of 40-50 meters from the office building.
Beringpromugol holds so-called subbotniki at workplaces not only on World Environment Day, but also while organizes workplaces in the 5S system. Developed in post-war Japan, the 5S system involves five steps to organize and rationalize the workspace. Its purpose is to create the optimal conditions for performing operations, maintaining order, cleanliness, accuracy, saving time and energy. 5S is sorting, ordering, cleanliness, standardization and improvement. In Beringpromugol, the implementation of the 5S system lasts more than a year, and the company is in the second stage - compliance with the order.
